Support Life: Pick a Rose *UPDATED*

(Some of you have asked for a more prominent link to B's blog. You can view it at littleoneapril.blogspot.com)

It's amazing how God leads our lives..seriously.

Some of you who know me on a personal level know mine and my wife's story. Those that don't, here's the Cliff's Notes...In our 20th week of pregnancy, our sweet little girl, Evie Grace, was diagnosed with Trisomy 9, a genetic disorder that caused physical development issues in her heart and brain. We were given the devastating news that she would not live once she was born. After the news, we were blessed with 11 wonderfully bittersweet weeks before our Lord called her home.

We believe our sweet girl was not a mistake or a 'mess up', but that she was made perfect just the way she was. Evie's life, however short it was, was God-ordained and she had a purpose while she was here.

While we clung tightly to our faith that God is good through those 11 weeks and beyond, we are continually amazed by the divine providence of it all as He begins to unveil the puzzle pieces.

Through several different connections, Raechel and I have crossed paths with 'B' (her anonymous web identity), a very special girl with a similar story. 'B' recently found out at her recent ultrasound that her little girl, April Rose, has Trisomy 13 (in addition to a few other findings.)

Aware of the toll this kind of news can take, I contacted B, as UD+M, with a desire to help offset the financial burden of hospital bills and other necessary arrangements for her situation. With a grateful heart, B obliged and allowed me to design a shirt in honor of her sweet April Rose.

B also wanted to raise awareness of the sanctity of life, born or unborn, no matter how long or short that life may be. She has requested that a portion of the proceeds be donated to PASS Pregnancy Care Center, a crisis pregnancy center located near B that provides counseling and abortion alternatives to women and men facing unplanned pregnancy.

So, celebrate life, help someone in need, and get a great looking t-shirt! Visit the UD+M store to order one today (pre-orders are currently being accepted). Don't forget to tell your friends!

Love the shirt. Nicely done. Where can I get my hands on the chair on the top of the page?

Ha. THAT I wish I could take credit for...

It's the Eames chair (more specifically the Eames Lounge chair and ottoman, I believe), designed by Charles and Ray Eames in 1956.

You can usually find originals on ebay or craigslist, but I think there are some knockoff versions out there for a fraction of the price.

In fact, Herman Miller might still sell a version (for whom the chair was originally designed).

Thanks for visiting the site. Come back soon.
